Ryota Yamada – Director
Ryota Yamada has 30 years’ experience in the mining, energy and infrastructure sector and has directed the development of upstream fuel supply and downstream independent power projects in Australia and overseas.
Ryota has held senior roles with large international companies in both Australia and Asia. More recently, Ryota has provided consultancy services to a number of companies and corporations in Australia, Japan and China.
With a strong background in both technical and commercial management, Ryota has formulated and implemented strategies for the development of new markets and businesses and has worked in different cultural environments, developing strategies to bring together business partners from across these cultures.
Ryota has a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and has an MBA from the University of Newcastle. He is a member of the Clean Energy Council, Sustainable Energy Association of Australia, Carbon Market Institute, Australian Japan Society and Japanese Association/Chamber of Commerce of Western Australia.
Phil Scott – Director
Phil Scott has 27 years of experience in resource and environmental management across a broad range of environmental, resource management, planning and development areas. His background and original training is in environmental science. Phil has provided advice for planning, Approvals and management of major developments and operations in a broad range of environmental, social and political settings.
Phil has been in senior management roles for significant mining companies with accountability for the development of systems and processes to support environmental improvement and excellence at a corporate level. In key roles for both Government and private industry, Phil has assembled and led teams to deliver significant improvements and changes in the environmental performance of resource companies and agriculture.
Phil has also had a long career in professional sport, having been a player and specialist coach in Australian Rules football.
Phil holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from Murdoch University and is a Member of the Environmental Consultants Association.
Catherine Pinchin – Director
Catherine Pinchin has 25 years of experience in resource and environmental management and the development of large scale infrastructure projects both within Australia and overseas.
Catherine has particular strength and demonstrated success in leading multi-party negotiations to achieve outcomes within critical time frames. An experienced project manager with a strong basis in strategy, communication and negotiations skills, she is adept at identifying and ethically resolving conflict.
During her career, Catherine has been engaged in the development of many large scale infrastructure projects in Australia and internationally. She has held senior legal and commercial roles with Citic Pacific Mining, Nextgen Networks, the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG), Eltin Ltd and Marubeni Corporation (Tokyo). Most recently, Catherine has lead teams involved in the development of key planning documentation, including strategy and land acquisition for major new ports. Catherine has advised and managed legal teams in developing processing facilities and infrastructure in the Pilbara and in particular has advised on the regulatory and Approvals regimes as they relate to those projects.
Catherine has also managed a number of projects aspects involving community based issues. She has had responsibility for Government Relations and managed the negotiations for a significant new Indigenous Land Use Agreement.
Catherine has a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia. She is an Associate member of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
